About RealOne Player
RealOne Player allows you to receive and play "streaming" media. These
audio and/or video files are sent in small batches to avoid download time.
Viewing pages with RealOne Player content requires additional software,
which is readily downloadable and may already be on your computer.
What You Need to play RealOne Samples
and Trailers

Can't Play Clips or Connect to the
Server?
First, test your RealOne Player and verify that you can play the clips
available in the
RealOne
Guide. If these clips do not play, consult the
Real.com
Knowledge Base troubleshooting tips.
Can't Hear Any Sound?
If you don't hear sound when you try to play a clip, you may need to
adjust your system's sound configuration or update your sound card drivers. To check the volume levels in Windows:
- Double-click the speaker icon next to the clock in the lower right
corner of your monitor.
- Make sure that Mute is not selected for either the Volume Control
(Play Control) or Wave (Wave/Direct Sound) sliders.
If the driver software that sends information to your sound card is out
of date or has problems, RealOne Player may not be able to play sound.
Contact your sound card's manufacturer for information on installing the
latest drivers.
Sound Quality Problems?
This is most likely due to Internet or local network traffic. If audio
sounds too fast, too slow, scratchy, or distorted, try changing the RealOne
Player performance settings:
- From the RealOne Player Tools menu, choose Preferences.
- In the left menu, click Hardware.
- In the Sound Card Compatibility section, click Settings.
- Select the "Disable 16-bit sound" or "Disable custom sampling rates"
check boxes to modify how RealOne Player and the sound card interact. You
may need to experiment to find a combination of settings that works best
for your computer.
- In the Sound Card Compatibility dialogue box, click OK.
- In the Preferences dialogue box, click OK to save your changes.
